works in the tradition of american postwar colorfield painting. In his works of different dimensions, clearly structured geometrical colorfields are in a tense relationship with subtle grid-strucutres. Cromatic values like purity, nuances and light-power of the single colours and their contrastful relationsship between one another but also geometrical relations of the fields and grids are topics of the work. The opposing of colour and non-colour, like red and black, are the result of his interest in asian art, that he also deals with as a university professor.
