„Ecken, die es vielleicht gibt“

Opening: Saturday, 10th. 11. 6-9pm
Duration of the show: 10th.11. 2007– 05th.01 2008

Baschlakow's new large format collage - drawings are complex pieces using various visual material from her former works and re-arranging it , draw their particular atmosphere from the co-existence of non-simultanity. They present potential states of beeing, possible encounters and all kinds of transformations and metamorphosis.
The writer Robert Musil once said " If there is a sense of reality, there must also be a sense of possibility".

The works of the 1967 born artist Baschlakow are somehow topographical images of emotional landscapes viewed under this perspective of "it might be, it could be,  it should be"  rather than "as a matter of fact it is" or "it defintely will be".
At first sight, we see landscapes of chaos, no visible horizon line to hold tight on, a comic like panorama full of debris, like the Disney city Duckburg after a devastating twister, where orientation is beeing lost and physical laws and gravity are out of function.

Baschlakow's drawings develop a strong visual power by undertaking a rearrangent of that chaos. Every pictorial element of her compositions - be it tecnical or organic is rather revealing the secret powers that it is driven by  than explaining its  inner nature and true purpose.
