Page 1 of 4 * 1974, lives and works in Berlin Astrid Köppe´s objects awaken the feeling of acquaintanance and irritation at the same time. They are simple things, which seem familiar from our every-day life, but which blur into the unrecognisable because the details have been left out. These mundane constructs are of reduced simplicity; they confront the viewer through their central positioning on the paper, and seem like pictrograms, and so they allow various possibilities of interpretation –despite their simplicity. |
